A new exhibit by popular local artist Newy Fagan will be open from December 1 - 28, 2023. This highly anticipated display explores over 53 years of art created by a pioneer in the kiln-formed glass art movement.
Artist Newy Fagan’s works include paintings, wood cut prints, clay sculptures, and kiln-formed glass. All will be on display. Each piece reflects her personal journey through various artistic mediums and her love of horses
Newy grew up in Connecticut with a love for horses. After attending Southern Connecticut State University, her attention shifted from painting to glass work. In the early 1980’s Newy moved to Ocala National Forest and encountered several artists and mentors along the way.
Of the kilnformed glass movement, Newy says “[It] has spread world wide and I believe glass has become the major impact in the history of art in this century. I have been working with glass for the past 30 years and have enjoyed teaching these processes at various workshops around the country or at my home.
This exhibit will be up December 1-28 at the Marion Cultural Alliance’s Brick City Center for the Arts, 23 SW Broadway St., Ocala. Artist's Open Reception will be 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 1.
