The second annual OTrak Chalk Walk is January 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Florida-based professional and student artists are invited to compete for prizes. Free to apply! Deadline: December 1, 2024.
According to the event's press release:
"Along the OTrak leading to Tuscawilla Art Park, watch professional and student artists create stunning chalk art inspired by Florida’s “Natural Wonders, Great and Small.” Attendees can enjoy live music, local artisans, food trucks, and interactive family-friendly art activities in the park.
This free event will feature a chalk art competition with cash prizes for professional artists and awards for students. The competition is open to Florida-based professional artists who have a valid IRS tax identification number, and middle and high school students from Marion County. There are no application fees, and students will compete in their respective divisions with materials provided.
Chalk artists will be given designated spaces along the OTrak, with all designs expected to be original, non-political, and family-friendly. Artists will have until 4:00 p.m. to complete their work, with the winner announcements happening at 4:45 p.m."
