Applications are being accepted until Tuesday, August 1 for the 2023-24 First Friday Art Walk season in Ocala. According to it’s website, “The First Friday Art Walk takes place the first Friday of each month, September through May from 6 to 9 p.m. First Friday Art Walk is a free event located within Ocala’s historic downtown. Event festivities include over 30 artist displays, monthly live entertainment, free family art activities provided by local arts organizations and extended shopping hours. The public is invited to enjoy an evening of art, live performances, and downtown shops and restaurants.”
Application eligibility states that “The artistic process must have a minimum of 2 steps where the item has been altered in a unique way. All artworks must be of original artist design without any copyright infringement. All artworks must be family friendly. All artworks displayed at First Friday Art Walk must be consistent in style/media/items provided in application. “ It is also noted that “only artists displaying their own original work are eligible to participate in First Friday Art Walk. Note cards, limited edition prints (including stickers), and giclees may be sold but original work must also be displayed. Handmade, hand printed clothing from original designs are permitted. However, machine printed/manufactured clothing/items are not permitted.”
