With major plans already in place to improve the County Road 484/I-75 interchange, the recent sale of 69 acres of prime land on the south side of CR 484 west of I-75 to Ocala 484 Investment LLC could mean large growth in that area in the near future. The buyer paid $8.75 million to purchase the land from Marco Polo Builders, who already has a plan approved by the County Commission for a 320-unit apartment complex and 2.2 million square feet of commercial development.
Ocala 484 Investment LLC has not indicated any immediate plans for development. The company is new, having been formed only in September of this year. However, it is linked to businessperson Vijay Patel of New Port Richey whose Dhruv Management company owns hotels, gas stations, and various other real estate such as prime residential and commercial properties.
Dhruv Management has proven success in the hospitality industry, leaving many hopeful that this sizeable land sale will become an asset to the community. Three of the hotels that Dhryv Management owns are in Ocala. They include the Stage Stop Resort and Rodeway Inn (both on E. Silver Springs Blvd.) and the Avid Hotel on S. Pine Ave.
Nearby this parcel of land are plans for a 759-home development and the Dollar Tree distribution center in the Florida Crossroads Commerce Park.
