Single-family Home Sales Prices In Marion County remains over $300K

Following a predictable downturn at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, recent reports show that the market is back up and running. After a slight decrease in recent months, the market roared back to life in November of 2021.

The average sales price of homes in Marion County in November was $305,211. That's a monumental increase from $245,450 in November of 2020, and it's also a substantial rise from the month before. In October of 2021, the average single-family home sold for approximately $287,000.

Those in the real estate business caution not to read too much into the average numbers from any one month. Rather, they say, use the median sales price. Going by that gauge also indicates strong health for the Marion County housing market, as the median sales price of single-family homes in Marion County in November went for $250,000, thus marking an increase of nearly 30% from November of 2020.

The number of pure sales increased this November as well, jumping up over 20% compared to November of 2020.

The trend in Marion County mirrors what is happening across the country. The national median sales price of single-family homes in November of 2021 was $353,900, representing a 12.3% increase from November of 2020.
