A pair of new chain restaurants are coming to Ocala.
Storming Crab Boil Cajun Seafood, a casual dining, family owned national seafood chain with a Louisiana flare, is set to replace Ruby Tuesday's at 3500 SW College Road. Records say that Storming Crab plans to invest approximately $20,000 worth of new kitchen equipment in the existing building.
Currently, the chain has fourteen stores open across the nation. Along with Ocala, ownership plans to open five additional locations in the near future, each one in a different state. To date, there is no timetable for when the Ocala location might open its doors.
Storming Crab will be joined by Culver's as the other new restaurant in town. Documents show that Culver's is planning to build a brand new building for its Ocala store on State Route 200, near an existing Bojangles. This will be the third location for Culver's in the north central Florida area, with restaurants already open in The Villages and Gainesville.
The records state that the plan is for a 4,460 square foot building on the block of land tabbed 4900 SW State Route 200. The restaurant will come equipped with six drive through lanes, as well as 64 parking spaces.
