2018 is bringing with it a significant amount of development for the Ocala area. Multiple large convenient stores have been announced and ground has been broken. A RaceTrac station that will have 16 fuel stations and be 5,500-square-feet on the NW corner of 441 & SW 32nd Street is in the works. Just north of that, land has been cleared for Ocala’s first WaWa service station— construction will begin soon.
The equestrian center nearby Golden Ocala continues to gain new land as development continues. This month alone LLC has spent $1.3 million for 22 acres on the north side of SR-40. This is a massive project headed by Larry Roberts— the trucking tycoon who owns Golden Ocala. It will feature a 260-room hotel, a 140,000-square-foot arena, commercial land, and a 2,400-home community.
Spruce Creek Preserve, a fairly popular golf course, has found itself a new owner in WV-based ‘Next Shot Real Estate Holdings. They paid $520,000 to purchase the course. This is a significant depreciation from its original price tag of $1.325 million back in 2012.
A brand new subdivision has just been approved at County Road 42 & SW 73rd Avenue. The land was purchased by developer Danny Gaekwad back in late 2015. The plan is to have nearly 2,000 single-family home units as well as 300 multi-family homes on a 338 acre plot of land. It has been confirmed the development will not be age-restricted.
