A new huge commerce park may be moving in to Marion Oaks to help "continue the county's successful foray into logistics and distribution." With the success of the Ocala/Marion County Commerce Park that already has a distribution facility for FedEx and an AutoZone and Chewy facility on the way, developing a new commerce park seems like the right move to further Ocala's growth and economic development.
Marion Oaks is a thousand-acre site south of County Road 484 and two and three-quarter miles west of I-75, located between Marion Oaks Course in Marion Oaks Manor.
This could mean big news for the business community, but it has sparked some concern for residents regarding "traffic, noise and over development." Many more approvals are still needed for this new commerce park to come to fruition, however the Marion County Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the project with the County Commission review up next, followed by agency studies from the state.
