Market Street at Heath Brook, which was once a failing retail center, is now on the up and up, especially with the new construction that is planned here to put in a 12-screen movie theater on land occupying over four acres. It will be called the Market Street SC-Epic Theater, and it will be the only theater of its size in the area and is slated to open in 2018.
There is also approximately 685,000 square feet of retail space, and with the construction of the new movie theater, walls are being knocked down to create room for a new HomeGoods store totaling 22,445 square feet, which will be located near The Commons and Artsy Abode.
Recently opened retailers in the shopping center include OrangeTheory Fitness, which opened last year, as well as a Chicos Outlet and a Five Star Pizza restaurant. With larger businesses moving in here, the financial outlook for the entire center is looking positive.
Furthermore, this new state-of-the-art movie theater will draw in more people for not only the entertainment, but it will also attract more shoppers to the area. The target market for Market Street is the residents of On Top of the World, as well as the areas surrounding it.
There are currently 34 open businesses at Market Street and owners are optimistic. Market Street also has the advantage of being an outdoor mall, which is currently one of the biggest trends in shopping destinations.
