There is plenty of entertainment in the coming weeks for Ocala residents to enjoy, and here is a lineup of what you can look forward to.
The 24th annual Southeastern Pro Rodeo will take place March 24th and 25th at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion in Ocala. The event will include bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding.
On March 31st, the Gospel Music Concert Series at College Road Baptist Church will conclude with a performance by the group Southern Raised, which is sure to be a great show.
Patrica Zhuge is a 10-year-old award winning pianist who will be performing at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church on April 2nd, courtesy of the Marion Chamber Society.
Brick City Center for the Arts will host "The Art of Aging," an exhibit that will feature photographs, lectures and paintings by artist members of the Marion Cultural Alliance who are over 55. The exhibit will run April 7th through 28th, allowing plenty of time for residents to take advantage of the show.
On April 8th and 9th, the Ocala Symphony Orchestra is going to perform a program titled "American Graffiti." The show will feature Philip Glass' "Violin Concerto No. 1," a tour of American music including George Gershwin's "Cuban Overture" and Aaron Copland's "Four Dance Episodes" from "Rodeo," as well as a tribute to Irving Berlin.
Students from Central Florida Musical Theater will be performing "Evita" on select dates between April 7th and April 15th. The classic Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical will be directed by the Central Florida Assistant Professor of Theater and will be free for students, faculty and staff.
The Marion Civic Chorale of Ocala will be performing concerts in celebration of their 30 years of existence. The music will be performed on April 23rd at First United Methodist Church as well as at St. George Anglican Cathedral.
On May 5th, a cast of female community leaders will be performing the "Vagina Monologues" at the Reilly Arts Center.
