Plenty of fun is in the entertainment pipeline in the coming weeks in Ocala.
This Friday, the Appleton Museum of Art will host the Frida-By-Moonlight party from 6:30 to 8:30 PM as part of the museum's Frida Kahlo exhibit. The party will feature Mexican cuisine, cocktails and live Latin music.
On Saturday, you can take part in the Rotary Discovery Fest, the annual cattle drive and cowboy round-up that will begin at 10 AM. The cattle drive will run through downtown Ocala northeast to Tuscawilla Park, where there will be a family-friendly event featuring games, activities, music and a kid's zone until 4 PM.
For a bit of music culture this weekend, check out Ocala Symphony Orchestra's "The Orient Express," which will include Rimsky-Korsakov's "Antar Suite."
On Wednesday, February 15, the Parade of Nations horse celebration will take place in downtown Ocala honoring the equestrian athletes and their horses from around the globe who are in town for the Nations Cup, which is part of Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS).
The following weekend, February 18 and 19, the annual living-history event known as the Silver River Knap-In and Prehistoric Arts Festival will take place and will feature flint knappers, archaeologists, hide tanners, bow makers and potters from across the country. There will also be Native American artifacts as well as archery, tomahawk and spear throwing.
On the last weekend in February, Ocala's Kingdom of the Sun Concert band will be performing at the Marion Technical Institute.
