West Ocala is getting a new retail plaza

West Ocala has undergone and continues to experience a revitalization, with many community projects aimed at improving the neighborhood. There has been a major push to make healthy food more accessible in this area, which is currently considered a "food desert." Paradise Park Plaza is a major development aimed at addressing this problem while helping to reinvigorate the area.

The new plaza would total 60,000 square feet and would cost an estimated $13 million. It would include a Save-A-Lot grocery store, credit union, drugstore and possibly a county health department branch or a Heart of Florida medical facility. The plaza would be located at the corner of Silver Springs Boulevard and State Road 40.

This West Ocala development project but was just one issue discussed the recent town hall meeting hosted by Governor's West Ocala Neighborhood Revitalization Council.

Law enforcement issues were also discussed as it pertains to the Marion County Sheriff's Office as well as the Ocala Police Department. For more information and details on upcoming plans for West Ocala and the community, be sure to read the full article at Ocala.com.
