Downtown Ocala is a thriving neighborhood, and it just continues to become home to new and hip business and restaurants. Downtown is proving so far to be a worthwhile investment for developers, as well as a desirable destination for locals. There is always something new to check out or a budding development on the horizon.
What was previously BG Downtown at 11 East Silver Springs Boulevard has become Tavern on the Square, the newest, coolest bar in downtown Ocala. It is now open and featuring a Jazz Jam on Thursday nights and is projected to be one of the finest eateries in the downtown Ocala scene.
It is not easy to follow the opening of the Brick City Southern Kitchen, which launched with a bang, but Tavern on the Square is expected to be stellar. It will feature a modern gourmet menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday.
One of the restaurant’s standout menu items will be its table-side Cesar salad, and it will be offered all day long. While BG Downtown was once a night club, its shift to a swanky eatery has been fairly seamless. The new restaurant will have 100 dining seats, including three ten-person community tables as well as patio dining overlooking the Square.
This is an exciting new opening and a great new addition to the restaurant scene for downtown Ocala that the entire city can get excited about. For more info and details on Tavern on the Square, check out the full article at Ocala.com.
