Live Oak International is back!

Live Oak International will be taking place in Marion County this weekend, marking the prestigious event’s 25-year anniversary. This annual event, which is certainly one of the largest in the equestrian world, features some of the best combined driving teams, attracting top drivers, riders, trainers and coaches from around the country and from 17 nations worldwide.

The event will take place on the 5,000-acre Live Oak Plantation that features rolling fields and oak trees as a beautiful course and backdrop. The plantation has been hosting shows for the past four years, and has included past Olympic gold medalists. The Grand Prix at the plantation is a World Cup qualifying event as well as a qualifying event for the 2016 Olympics that will take place in Rio de Janeiro in August.

Live Oak International has had a tremendously positive effect on the Marion County economy, drawing thousands of visitors in addition to the visitors that come for HITS, or Horse Shows in the Sun.

Ocala is certainly the horse capital of the world, and is therefore home to some of the most beautiful horse farm properties. With over 350 farms currently on the market, there is sure to be something thing that fits your needs.

Horse properties are incredibly valuable here, however they are more affordable than those in Wellington, which is an equestrian community in Palm Beach that tends to be over-crowded and therefore over-priced. Many who cannot afford properties there, or who simply cannot find what they are looking for, look to Ocala to meet their horse farm needs. Furthermore the Ocala climate makes it ideal for horses to train year round, which is another draw for the town.
