Munroe Regional Medical Center is about to get some much needed maintenance and renovations, and the money that is about to go into it will mean more revenue for the city, as well.
With Community Health System’s (CHS) plan to spend over $100 million on the project, improvements and expansion include a new 90-bed tower, ER renovations, a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and renovations to the obstetrics and imaging departments.
The ultimate goal is to provide better health care and a better patient experience.
The master plan is part of the 40-year lease agreement of Munroe Regional Medical Center to CHS, which includes a total of $150 million worth of improvements to the hospital and satellite facilities, plus another $75 million worth of upgrades inside the hospital over the first five years of the lease.
The proposed Munroe improvements are part of a three-phase plan, and you can read about the details at Ocala.com.
